CLIO is a website and mobile app that provides local, historical information from your mobile device through GPS. The app has the option to search historical sites, buildings, markers, and museums by turning on location services, which allows you to see the closest historical locations that have been entered into the database. It can also be used through manual search by entering an address or the name of the place if you are looking for a specific location.
In our History 306 class, I had the opportunity to edit the page about Mead’s Tavern located in New London, VA. I added new information to the page and uploaded photos from recent excavations. If you are interested in learning more about Mead’s Tavern, or want to check out the Mead’s Tavern CLIO page, click here.
